We are pleased to announce our Fourth Annual Sewing Retreat, June 6 and 7 at the Municipal Building in Britt, Iowa. Friday's project is Anna's Cutting Garden. It is a such a sweet little project measuring 38" x 46". We will guide you through all of the techniques for this class, includingflying geese, easy applique, and fast bias applique.  We will show all of our favorite tricks of the trade. This is one of those projects that looks challenging, but, it's NOT. We are offering kits for this class. The fee for this kit is $48.50. As a convenience for all students purchasing a kit, these will be pre-cut into strip sets, and some pieces will also be pre-cut to size. The kit will include the ric rac and the binding, but not the backing, or batting. For the students who wish to choose their own fabric, we will give you fabric requirements as well as some cutting instructions prior to class. All students will be required to do some cutting at the class, but, we really want to focus on sewing.

Saturday's class is Snowflakes Galore. This quilt measurers 33" x 56" and combines fusible applique and easy piecing. We've used a fabric with silver sparkles for the snowflake accents and a silver metallic threadto stitch down the fused snowflakes to give this quilt some sparkle. We will have the metallic thread and metallic sewing machine needles available for purchase at class. If you prefer, you can use regular thread to complete your project. We are offering kits for this project and again, the strips will be precut for your convenience. This kit will include the ric rac and the binding but not the backing or batting. The cost of the kit is $49.

Class will run from 9:30-4:00. We will open the doors at 8:30 for shopping, set up, and a light breakfast. The Municipal Building is on Main Street. The building offers plenty of parking, no stairs, a large, clean restrooms, and wonderful lighting. We allow two sewing machines per table for extra room. We have all of the drop cords ready, so all you have to do is plug in your sewing machine. We also provide all of the irons and ironing boards. Along the outside walls will be the folk art and sewing rummage again. The tables will be groaning with new goodies!!! We've also got some fabric packs featuring our newest lines of fabric, new patterns, and some exclusive kits and patterns. This year we will also some of our favorite notions for sale also.

Class fees remains the same as last year, $40 per day. Just click on the icon and add it to the cart. Also, the cart will add shipping, but, since we manually enter all credit card transactions, this will be adjusted to reflect the class fee without shipping. Once you are signed up for class, we will send you a supply list, fabric requirements, etc. We do ask that you bring some pre-cut strip sets to class, or if you are purchasing the kits, this will be done for you.
